Estimation Method of 3G/LTE Quality by TCP Passive Measurement in Remote Site

(in English) In this paper, we focus on an automatic retransmission function of 3G/LTE, and propose the wireless section quality estimation method by analyzing the packet interval of TCP using features of the retransmission. An increase in the number of terminals and the contents size is remarkable, and the degradation of the communication quality due to circuit confusion and band shortage is feared in wireless telecommunications in recent years. The communication quality that the user requests on the other hand is high, and as for the career, the detection at the early stage and the recovery of the communication quality deterioration are requested, and the grasp of the communication quality at the response time etc. and determination of the cause of the quality deterioration are important. A past, passive measurement was not able to measure a quality in a wireless section only in the network including a wireless section such as 3G/LTE because of the End-to-End measurement with the passive measurement device set up in the wired section. Then, the method to estimate the communication quality in a wireless section and the evaluation result through the 3G/LTE network are shown by analyzing the influence of an automatic retransmission function of 3G/LTE in the sequence of the TCP packets.
