This paper proposes stable haptic system for force feedback from physics simulation using haptic controller. To display accurate force, it is necessary to update physics simulation with high frequency. In general PC environment, however, there is a limit to highly update, because non-realtime OS is commonly used and communication with haptic device becomes a bottleneck. In proposal system, we developed a haptic controller with physics simulation. The controller runs physics simulation around haptic pointer and PC simulates whole virtual world. This controller realizes stable 1kHz update of physics simulation and high quality force feedback. |
