Fingered manipulation in invisible environment requires haptic recognition of colliding status between handling and other objects. Although such interference produces a moment to user hand, the moment is not appropriately calculated in VR environments using ungrounded force display device and virtual coupling method. We propose a novel haptic rendering algorithm, which extracts and enhances the component generated by hand rotation in the distance between actual fingertip and its virtual proxy. |
