Overload control for CUG/PNP communication in IMS

(in English) An AS provides application services such as CUG/PNP communication service in IMS network. CUG/PNP communication is a communication which is restricted to a pre-defined group of UEs with private number set by each user. When operators provide communication services in their network, an overload control function is required for the protection of the network against rapidly increasing traffic. It is shown that the overload control method based on call density control with E.164 public numbers is effective in SIP network such as IMS as well as PSTN. However, this method cannot be applied to CUG/PNP communication for the usage of private numbers. In this paper we propose an overload control method for CUG/PNP communication provided by an AS and show the effectiveness of the method by simulation experiments.
