Effect of Content Network Scale on Content Replication Algorithm Considering Popularity per File Size

(in English) On general content delivery networks, replica allocation is effective in reducing propagation delay when users obtain contents. And contents formatted into file type are supposed to be delivered under a reliable transmission control protocol, e.g. Transmission Control Protocol. In this case, round trip time dominates delivery transmission rate between a server that deliver a requested content and a user that requests the content, and the delay for delivering contents occurs. We call it delivery transmission delay. Assuming that contents are delivered under a reliable transmission control protocol, we proposed a content replication algorithm that considers the popularity per file size of content to reduce delivery transmission delay. On the other hand, the effect of network scale on performance of the proposed method is not evaluated. In this paper, we evaluate the effect of the number of servers, the number of contents, and storage capacity of servers on performance of the proposed method. The proposed method provides better performance constantly than other heuristics under any network scale condition.
