A study of perturbation vector search for downlink MU-MIMO using Vector Perturbation

(in English) This paper proposes the computational complexity reduction technique for the downlink(DL) Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output(DL MU-MIMO) using Vector Perturbation(VP). By Searching the optimal perturbation vector among an infinite number of perturbation vector candidate, VP MU-MIMO can reduce the required transmission power, resulting in the good frequency eciency. However, its computational complexity exponentially increases with the number of spatial multiplexing mobile terminals. To reduce the complexity of VP, QRM-VP has been proposed, which is based on QR decomposition and M algorithm. However, its computational complexity remains relatively high. This paper points out that the optimal perturbation vector search of VP is equivalent to maximum-likehood detection for the received signal. From this observation, this paper proposes the computational complexity reduction technique for VP MU-MIMO, and shows its transmission performance and computational complexity by computer simulation.
