| (in English) | The number of studies for event detection from Internet videos has been increasing. Here, an event is defined as a combination of multiple concepts such as objects, scenes, and motions. Examples of events are Birthday party and Changing a vehicle tire. In most of the previous studies, local features and their modelling have been used. Among various local features, spatial-temporal features representing motions, such as STIP, have been shown to be effective. However, they are not robust against camera motions, which often happen in Internet videos. In this paper, we introduce camera motion cancelled features using camera motion estimation from optical flows. We model each of complementary features including this feature by using a GMM supervector and use it as the input to an SVM. Finally, multiple features are fused by using SVM scores. In the experiment using TRECVID2012 MED task, the mean normalized detection cost obtained by the proposed method was 0.5296 and it ranked at 3rd among those from 17 teams. | |
