A Study on Indoor Position Estimation Using Wireless LAN in a Corridor

(in English) This paper presents performance evaluation of smartphone positioning systems using wireless LAN access points in indoor corridor environments. Firstly, human shadowing effects in signal strength are obtained by preliminary experiments. Secondly, positioning experiments are carried out and compared under various conditions such as different arrangements of access points, different kinds of used access points (general or dedicated), different learning data on radio shadowing. Results show that addition of dedicated access points is effective and that to construct databases considering radio shadowing is important.
