This paper presents a novel reflection coefficient measurement method and an adaptive antenna tuning system with simplified components. The present measurement method identifies the region of the reflection coefficient by comparing the amplitudes of standing wave at some points in the feed line. And the present tuner has some susceptance elements connected to the feed line via the switches for the variable matching circuit. The controller of the variable matching circuit can be constructed by simple logic circuit. It is shown that the present measurement method contributes the simplification and miniaturization of the adaptive antenna tuning system. |
