Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Techniques that can estimate a trajectory of people, cars, and airplanes and navigate them are developed and widely used. The Global Positioning System (GPS) is used most of system estimates the trajectory. However, it is difficult to use the GPS in a building and an underground. We examine a method which uses the acceleration sensor that estimates the trajectory on wheelchair users. Acceleration sensor that achieves wherever can use it and small and have low power consumption. In this study, we analyze the wheelchair trajectory using acceleration signals obtained by the sensors attached on the wheelchair wheel. The proposed method estimates the wheelchair trajectory on the floor and the elevator up-down movement. The results show that our proposed method estimated the trajectory on the floor, it had a few errors in the wheelchair rotation angle but most of trajectory linear distance had good results. Estimations of the up-down movement were estimated within 0.2 m accuracy.
