Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent, the development of digital measurement technology make possible to acquire a large quantity of data in an instant. Image data of digital camera and time series data recorded in a long period by high speed A/D converter are typical examples.
In this study, we developed a Primitive Pattern Decomposition (PPD) method in order to easily and quickly extract an arbitrary data pattern from large volume of digital data sequence. As the primitives nine patterns are employed, and PPD method with the primitives is applied to the waveform and image data. Through the experiments, it was found that the PPD method is easy and flexible to make a pattern to be extracted, and possible to extract it from original signals in a short time. Also, PPD method is useful for rough approximation of complex signals and for rough estimation of signal characteristics like a spectrum analysis.
