Performance Evaluation of Spreading Codes with Negative Auto-Correlation Based on Gold Sequences and Chaos Theory -- BER in Asynchronous DS/CDMA Communications under AWGN Environment --

(in English) In asynchronous DS/CDMA communications, spreading codes with appropriate negative auto-correlation can reduce bit error rate (BER) compared with the conventional Gold sequences generated by linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs). Such negatively auto-correlated spreading codes can be generated by 1-dimensional chaotic maps but the code generators, in general, are more complex and expensive than the conventional linear feedback shift registers (LFSRs). We proposed design methods of spreading codes with negative auto-correlation based on Gold sequences and the chaos theory for the Bernoulli map. By computer simulations of asynchronous DS/CDMA communications, we showed that the proposed sequences can reduce the BER compared with the original Gold sequences. In this paper, we evaluate the BER performance of the proposed spreading codes with negative auto-correlation in asynchronous DS/CDMA communications under additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) environment.
