Fast Transient Analysis of Lossy Power Distribution Network Based on an Approximate Implicit Method
Yuuki Nakashima, Tadatoshi Sekine, Hideki Asai (Shizuoka Univ.) CAS2012-79
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This report describes the approximate implicit method (AIM) for the fast transient analysis of power distribution networks (PDNs). Because the proposed method is based on an implicit difference method, it is more stable than existing explicit time marching schemes. In addition, AIM can reduce the computational cost compared to conventional fully-implicit methods by applying an approximation technique to the formulation. For the verification of the accuracy and CPU time of AIM, we perform the transient simulation of an example PDN by using the existing explicit and the proposed methods and show some numerical results.
