The SIK (sequence inversion keyed) CDMA system has been proposed as one of optical CDMA (code division multiple access) communication systems with unipolar codes, where correlation properties of corresponding bipolar codes can be utilized. In this paper, bit error rate (BER) performances of asynchronous SIK CDMA systems using unipolar codes are evaluated by computer simulations, where de Bruijn sequences generated by NFSRs (nonlinear feedback shift registers), Gold sequences, and their negatively
auto-correlated versions are used. As a result, NFSR-based sequences with negative auto-correlation have better performances in the SIK system compared to the others. |
