Development of High Efficiency Contactless Power Transfer System for Electric Vehicle

(in English) This paper investigates contactless power transfer system for electric vehicle. A series-parallel resonant full-bridge DC-DC converter with a current doubler rectifier, in which a resonant capacitor is connected in series to a primary coil and in parallel to a secondary coil, is adopted for a contactless power transfer system of electromagnetic induction type. The multi-resonance in the proposed circuit is confirmed based on F-parameter analysis of its impedance characteristic. The characteristics of the developed converter are evaluated by circuit simulation and measurement. As a consequence, it is verified that the power feeding efficiency of 95.1 % is achieved in the state of rating output power of 500 W and gap between primary and secondary coils of 50 mm by using the developed contactless power transfer system.
