Improvement of MRI-Based Partial Volume Correction Method for Cerebral Blood-Flow SPECT and Its Application to Lesion Detection

(in English) MRI based partial volume correction method for cerebral blood-flow SPECT is required several parameters, it is difficult to estimate the optimal parameters. We propose a method to estimate its parameters automatically, and we propose the application to lesion detection of dementia. In the previous work, assumed to be constant blood-flow values for each region gray matter, white matter, we estimate the true distribution of the blood-flow of the other. In this study, we propose a method to calculate its optimal constant blood-flow value for each region automatically. We show the effectiveness of the proposed method by experiments using clinical SPECT data. In addition, we propose a lesion detection method of dementia using its parameters, and evaluate its detection accuracy. In the lesion detection method, we create a template image from the parameters and area information, and lesions detected by taking the difference between the observed SPECT image and the template image.
