Analysis of a Practical Balanced Dipole Antenna Using Balanced and Unbalanced Modes

(in English) In this report, we estimate the ratio between the balanced and unbalanced modes which are excited on the practical balanced antenna in terms of CMRR(common-mode rejection ratio). We introduce mixed mode $S$-parameters to analyze the modes which exist on the antenna, and derive the input impedance for the blanced mode and the input admitance for the unbalanced mode expressed by $S$-parameters. By evaluating CRMM at the resonance of the balanced dipole antenna, we can find that the amount of the reflection for the balanced mode is reduced, CMRR is minimized, and the relatively large excitation for the unbalanced mode can be observed. By evaluating the power ratio of the balanced mode to all modes, we can examine the excitation of the balanced mode at the resonance of the antenna.
