Numerical simulations of bubble pulsation in mercury -- sonoluminescence --

(in English) Numerical simulations of bubble pulsation and light emission (sonoluminescence (SL)) have been performed for helium or xenon bubbles in mercury and water. The results of the simulations have indicated that the SL intensity increases as the pressure of shock waves emitted from the bubbles increases in mercury. On the other hand, in water, the SL intensity is not correlated with the pressure of shock waves because the amount of water vapor trapped inside bubbles strongly influences the SL intensity in a complex way.
