Throughput Performance of Amplify-and-Forward Relaying with Adaptive Frequency Offset in Multiuser Cellular Downlink

(in English) This report evaluates the throughput performance of an adaptive frequency offset selection scheme in an Amplify-and-Forward (AF) relay system.
On the downlink of an OFDMA multiple access system, only the partial band of the channel may be allocated for cell edge terminals and relay stations in order to avoid intercell interference.
On the other hand, the whole channel is assumed to be available to the relay stations as the transmission range is limited.
In the proposed AF relay, the frequency of the retransmitted signal is shifted over the whole channel according to the channel response.
Numerical results through computer simulation show that the throughput performance of the proposed AF relay improves by approximately 25% as compared to that of the relay without frequency offset.
