To clarify the origin of the superior FE characteristics of carbon coated emitters, we investigated the field enhancement at a triple junction and work function calculated by the Ab initio simulations. The simulations indicate that (1) the electric field near the triple junction is one orders of magnitude higher than at other places, (2) the work function of graphene is dramatically decrease by the hydrogen termination. |
