The OFDM Transmission has been introduced in many mobile communication systems because it has the features of high frequency utilization efficiency and robustness in multi-path environment. In the OFDM system, relation of orthogonal frequencies and guard interval (GI) are utilized to achieve high frequency utilization and high tolerance for multi-path, respectively.
In this paper, firstly, principle of the OFDM system such as concept of “Orthogonal frequencies” and scheme of GI as a countermeasure for multi-path waves is described. Then, problems to be solved of OFDM system in multi-path environment are explained. Finally, appropriate symbol length, subcarrier interval and limitation of OFDM system in mobile communication environment are described. |
