A Study on OFDM Clipping and Filtering Method Employing SNDR-Based Transmit Power Control

(in English) This paper proposes a novel deterministic approach employing transmit power control to overcome the BER degradation of OFDM clipping and filtering. The feature of the proposed method is to perform the transmit power control before clipping and filtering and its transmit power control is operated based in the signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratio (SNDR) derived by the closed form formula. Since the proposed method can determine the appropriate transmit power level by using the simple mathematical formula, the conventional heuristic approaches such as the iterative process are not required any more and the bit error rate (BER) improvement can be expected as well as suppressing the out-of-band radiation. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated in comparison with the traditional clipping and filtering method by means of computer simulations.
