RLS-based Channel Estimation for Training Sequence Inserted Single-carrier Block Transmission

(in English) In this paper, we study channel estimation schemes for training sequence inserted single-carrier (TS-SC) block transmission using frequency-domain equalization (FDE). In TS-SC block transmission, since the TS can be utilized for channel estimation, no pilot block is needed. Recently, we have proposed a 2-step frequency-domain iterative channel estimation (2-step CE) for TS-SC block transmission. We showed that it improves the channel estimation accuracy and achieves a bit error rate (BER) performance close to the perfect channel estimation. However, the tracking ability is a problem in 2-step CE. In this paper, we propose RLS-based frequency-domain channel estimation schemes and evaluate by computer simulation the BER performance of TS-SC block transmission with FDE in doubly-selective (time- and frequency-selective) fading channel. The comparison between the proposed RLS-based channel estimation schemes and the previously proposed 2-step CE is also presented.
