The edge router which connects an access network and a core network is highly-functional router, and large amount of traffic is processed in the edge router. We propose “Edge Cloud” consisting of multiple virtual edge functions. By virtualizing the edge functions, the dynamical layout of edge function becomes to be possible. This allows location change of users during the system maintenance, electrical power saving by the equipment aggregation, and load balancing by the equipment distribution. In this paper, we focus on the live migration technology of the virtual machine (VM) which is a key technology to realize the virtual edge function, and propose a traffic control scheme for VM quick migration. The evaluation results show that 100 virtual edge functions are rearranged in a short time by using the proposed scheme. |
