Error Analysis of Current Vector Estimation using Multi-site HF Ocean Surface Radar System

(in English) Because single HF Ocean Surface Radar (HFOSR) measures only a
directional component of ocean current vector, multi-site HFOSR system
is needed to measure ocean current vector.
The estimation error is determined not only by the measurement error
of each HFOSR but also the geometry of HFOSR site.
In this study, the nature of estimation error is analyzed based on
assumption of the probability distribution of true directional
component as Gaussian.
The spatial distribution of estimation error becomes ellipse, which
directions of exes of are determined by the geometry of HFOSR sites.
The results are quite useful to examine the reliability of measured
ocean phenomena by multi-site HFOSR.
