Information Retrieval from Printed Images Using Correction by Markers Embedded to Amplitude Spectrum

(in English) For image retrieval from printed image, some marker (i.e. black frame) is required for correction of geometrical deformation and specification of an image position. However a visible maker is not appropriate. In a conventional method, the use of histogram is proposed to estimate the position of the data-embedded image from the captured image. In this method, the image cannot be exactly extracted, when the background colors of the captured image and the data-embedded image are similar. In this paper, we propose a new method for estimating the position of the data-embedding position in the captured image. The proposed method exploits amplitude spectrum of Fourier transform, which has the nature of translation invariant. The maker is embedded to the amplitude spectrum and it is difficult to notice by human vision. The decision method of the gain coefficient suitable for the proposed method is also considered and the bit detection of the embedded data by correlation is applied in order to no use of the original image. Through the experiment result, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
