| (in English) | A novel color image enhancement method in HSI color space is proposed in this paper. If hue is changed then the color gets changed, thereby distorting the image. Therefore, the proposed method performs the processing to saturation and intensity while preserving hue. In color image enhancement, it is necessary to spread signal distribution to the whole of the color space. Thus, the histogram equalization method with considering the shape of color space is applied to intensity of the image. On the other hand, the histogram equalization with variable enhancement degree is applied to saturation of the image. In the proposed method, we can control the enhancement degree by one parameter. It is easy to obtain the subjective desired image by adjusting the parameter. The effectiveness of our method is shown through a lot of examples. | |
