Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Ultrasonic vibration during scribing can enhance the scribing process such as scribing speed and durability of scribed glass. In the present work, frequency dependence on the ultrasonic scribing has been investigated. The ultrasonic frequency as well as scribing speed were changed, and the crack pattern of scribed glass was observed by microscope. It was found that the crack patterns are different for different ultrasonic frequency and scribing speed. In conclusion, ultrasonic frequency, normal force and scribing speed should be optimized for reliable glass scribing.
