| (in English) | Realtime video processing applications, such as intruder detection system, are now in demand and being developed. However, on general purpose operating systems, it is defficult to guarantee that enough CPU resources can be surely provided. We have proposed a pseudo real-time video processing library RaVioli for solving this problem. Moreover, in order to realize high-speed video processing, we also have proposed an improvement of RaVioli for supporting GPU platforms. This method frees programmers from the descriptions required for CUDA programming. However, there occurs redundant data transfers with RaVioli. This paper proposes an improvement for solving this problem. In addition, we implemented two speed-up techniques for video processing on RaVioli. One is overlapping data transfer and processing on GPU. The other is pipeline processing using both CPU and GPU. The result of experiment with a video processing program shows that the proposed methods improve the performance 1.3-fold against traditional method. |
