Power packet transmission system is a new power distribution system. This system is based on a concept of packet communication system in information and communications field. In this system, the power packet consists of divided electric power and information tags. The power packet is dispatched according to information tags. Discretized power is treated as a pulse wave, which possesses a continuous spectrum. Thus, a pulse distortion and a propagation loss depend on cable characteristics. Since power line is not designed for signal transmission, it is necessary to estimate the practical cable characteristics and pulse power transmission properties. In this report, the cable characteristics and pulse shape is experimentally investigated for power packet transmission . |
