Evaluation of the Power Level of LEX Signal from QZSS

(in English) LEX signal, an augmentation signal in the 1278.75 MHz band (E6) broadcasted from Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), is anticipated to realize fine positioning up to a centimeter level. In this paper, an experiment of receiving and decoding LEX signal using an originally developed real-time software defined LEX receiver with 3 types of antenna is being reported. Based on the results of the experiment, relation between C/N0 to QZSS elevation angle is also considered. Following the experiment, analytical study has been done concerning the power level of the LEX signal. Based on the characteristics of Rayleigh and Rician distribution, Critical C/N0 to cause a frame error has been calculated. The result of the analysis was confirmed to be consistent compared to the result of the experiment.
