Longtime Integration Algorithm based on Short Time Cross-Correlation Considering Range-Migration for Passive Radar

(in English) Passive bistatic radars (PBRs) exploit existing transmitters for sources of illumination such as TV broadcasts, radio broadcasts and etc, and are good for radiowave resource saving. Generally, PBRs need coherent longtime integration for improvement of SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), because PBRs obtain low SNR signals. For coherent longtime integration of signals, we must compensate range-migration relative to target movement. In conventional algorithm, it approximates range-migration by polynomial expression, and searches coefficients of the polynomial sequentially. However, the conventional algorithm does not seek to proactively employ the relationship between Doppler frequency and range-migration, and this algorithm takes long time for the compensation. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a novel coherent longtime integration algorithm that considers relationship between 1st order of range-migration and Doppler frequency by using Doppler filtering process based on short time cross-correlation. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm compensates more than 2nd order of range-migration after doing 1st order of the one for fast and accurate processing. Finally, the result from an experiment verifies the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
