(in English) We have developed an accessible electronic musical instrument “Cymis” for the patient with motor disabilities to play, which is now utilized more than ten facilities of social welfare, medical and special educational facilities. Various kinds of interfaces are needed, depending upon levels of the disability; we have developed new types of switches using conductive textile sheet and acceleration sensor. Since most of the facilities have wanted to utilize the switches, we have synthesized the switch according to the idea of “open source hardware” in response to the request. We have been investigating its usefulness with laboratory testing as well as with actual usage in several facilities.
