Effect of wind velocity to angular resolution of wind direction perception

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, various studies to enhance sensation of presence in VR are conducted. There is wind sensation in these studies and by combining with another sense leads to improve a sense of reality. However, we are not able to set up appropriately wind source because sensory property in wind sensation is not ascertained. In the past we have measured rough angular resolution in wind sensation and JND at the face using method of constant stimuli. However, we fixed wind velocity in these experiments. Therefore, effect for perception of wind direction by difference between wind velocities is not revealed. Hence, in this study, we experiment by some wind velocities and research about effect with which difference between wind velocities provides perception of wind direction.
