Composition Support of Presentation Scenarios According to Presentation Situations
Koichi Hanaue, Toyohide Watanabe (Nagoya Univ.) ET2012-20
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We propose an intelligent-support method of composing presentation scenarios applicable to various situations. The situation of presentation varies according to various factors such as the goal, the background knowledge of the audience, and the time constraints. This report focuses on the process of story composition in presentation preparation. In our proposed method, a presenter constructs a story from pieces of ideas, which we call a knowledge fragment network, accumulated in his/her daily activity. We support the construction of a presentation strategy by selecting and ordering the knowledge fragments that are relevantly specified by the presenter as an important one. To achieve this, we introduce a presentation strategy. A presentation strategy is the intention of a presenter on how to unfold a story and what point to emphasize. We formalize the presentation strategy as a procedure for searching the knowledge fragment network. In addition, we estimate the time for explaining the content of a knowledge fragment. This approach enables a presenter to construct a story that reflects the presentation strategy and the time constraint from a small number of knowledge fragments specified by him/her.
