A Study on RMLSA Algorithm in Elastic Optical Path Networks

(in English) Recently, due to the rapid increase of network traffic, it is necessary to use more efficiently network bandwidth on the whole optical fiber. Elastic Optical Path Networks, which enable efficient spectrum utilization on optical fibers by allocating bandwidth to optical paths using granular optical spectra, are expected. To allocate optical spectrum resources to optical paths efficiently, Elastic Optical Path Networks need Routing, Modulation Level and Spectrum Allocation (RMLSA) algorithm taking into consideration relation between modulation formats and transmission distance. In this paper, we propose and evaluate novel RMLSA algorithms which reduce occupied spectrum resources on the entire network in consideration of multiple candidate routes as well as a shortest route as a route allocated to optical paths. As a result, our algorithms showed that it could reduce occupied spectrum resources and allocate network resources efficiently.
