| (in English) | Pupil is controlled by the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves. Therefore, the pupil diameter variation is considered to reflect the emotional variation. However, the evidences are not consistent among researchers. On the other hand, various brain activity measurement are used for the emotional estimation in recent years. These methods usually require specific apparatuses for the measurement. In the case of EEG measurement, the subjects are required to put recording electrodes on their head. To achieve a simplified emotional estimation, we developed an experimental system for emotional estimation by the pupil diameter variation. The power spectrum ration forthe respective affective images are calculated relative to the corresponding control images in some range of frequencyband. From the experimental result, power spectrum ratio both for the positive affective and neutral images in the low frequency band is less than 1. On the other hand, power spectrum ratio for the negative affective images in thelow frequency band is more than 1. Thus, the experimental results indicated that low frequency component of thepupil diameter variation was important for emotional estimation. |
