Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Software Product Line (or SPL for short), which enables reuse of software artifacts among products, always require a considerable amount of effort for adoption. Recently, Extreme Derivation Development Process (or XDDP for short) attracts industrial development sites as a development process to produce derived products and its case studies are reported. SPL is a plan driven, total optimization oriented paradigm requiring global and future vision of the product line, whole comprehension of the system, and development and maintainance of core assets. On the other hand, XDDP is a change driven, partial optimization oriented process focusing only on added and modifi ed portion of the existing product on derivation of the new product. Although the adoption barrier of XDDP is obviously lower than SPL, SPL is advantageous in terms of cost and complexity on new product derivation for its automated derivation of new products in application engineering. This paper presents a process for derivative development, XDDP4SPL, which starts from XDDP and shifts to SPL gradually on successive derivation of products, with a small trial application for the autonomous vehicle.
