The technique of adaptive frequency domain equalization which estimate channel with pilot symbols is widely used, and the interval of transmitting pilot symbols needs to be set short under fast fading environments. In OFDM, because pilot symbols and data symbols can be multiplexed on the same block, the pilot interval can be set short. However, OFDM has low power efficiency because of high PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio). Therefore, single carrier block transmission using sparse pilot symbols which has almost the same power efficiency with single carrier block transmission by using different symbol timings between data symbols and pilot symbols and multiplexing them in frequency domain is suggested. In this paper, we propose the scheme for demodulation of single carrier block transmission using sparse pilot symbols, and show the performance of transceiver of single carrier block transmission using sparse pilot symbols with computer simulation under fast fading environments. |
