(in English) Cellular mobile communication systems reuse the same frequency channel in geographically distant areas to improve the spectrum efficiency. However, co-channel interference among cells remains a critical issue. As a technique of reducing co-channel interference, we studied a vertical plane beam control method that uses pre-coding and a cooperative MIMO transmission, in which adjacent base stations coordinately transmit signals to the cell-edge mobile stations. In this paper, in the multi-cell environment consisting of various cell sizes, we evaluate the throughput performance when the vertical plane beam control and the cooperative MIMO transmission are applied.
