A Study on Multi-rate Burst CDR Applied to Next Generation Access System

(in English) PON (Passive Optical Network) system is one of the mainstream as an optical access system. In the background of the growth of access traffic, the 10G-EPON and the XG-PON are expected to be deployed. Furthermore, the study of 40Gbps or 100Gbps class PONs has been made actively in various academic conferences and standardization organizations. A burst-mode CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) is one of the most important devices for implementing the TDM-PON system and we have developed it using blind over-sampling techniques. In this paper, we report the results of study of applying the sampling CDR to various PON systems that have different bit rates.
