On Automatic Detection for Waggle Dancing Workers from Spatio-Temporal Images

(in English) Waggle dance is a type of communication methods performed by honeybee workers, such as {\it Apis mellifera}.
This dance, having figure eight-like trajectories, is used for sharing information of direction and distance concerning
flowers, water sources, or new housing locations.
Analyzing these dances becomes of importance for revealing the behaviors of honeybee, but this has been conducted by
manual extraction of workers from a sequence of images.
This paper proposes a new scheme for automatically detecting workers undergoing waggle dance.
Our scheme utilizes cross-sectional images produced from an image sequence, and extracts peculiar patterns
by worker's waggle dances.
This scheme is evaluated by two image sequences of honeybee hives, which is taken by a typical video camera.
