Development of a reflection type optical displacement sensor unit for underwater use
Masataka Shinba, Jun Hasegawa (Takushoku Univ.) EA2011-124
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) An reflection type optical displacement sensor unit for underwater use was developed to realize simultaneous multi-point measurements of the vibrating underwater object for visualization of its vibration distribution as a 3D animation. Optical design of the previously developed sensor used in the air was modified for underwater use. The housing of the sensor unit was waterproofed. And, by redesigning its electronic circuit, its frequency band-width was expanded up to 1 MHz, while its displacement resolution of 10 nm was same as that of the previous system.
