Resilient Tree Construction Algorithm Using Pre-assigned Spare Nodes for Application Layer Multicast with Leaf Nodes

(in English) ALM (Application Layer Multicast) constructs multicast delivery tree among end hosts. Each end host in the multicast tree delivers streaming data by unicast along the constructed multicast tree. In ALM, when non-leaf nodes leave the multicast tree, child nodes of the left node cannot receive streaming data. In this case, we need to reconnect the child nodes to the multicast tree.
In this paper, we define the nodes that cannot upload contents as leaf nodes, which correspond to mobile terminals in the recent mobile internet environment. We propose resilient tree construction algorithm using pre-assigned spare nodes for application layer multicast with such leaf nodes.
