An adjacent channel interference reduction technique using overlap FFT Filter-Bank for OFDMA signals in Cognitive Radio

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) An OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) technique is robust to severe multi-path fading and is flexible enough to change the bandwidth according to the number of sub-carriers, thus it can achieve high frequency utilization efficiency.
However, OFDMA has a drawback of high sidelobe level since it is a block transmission technique, thus the relatively large guardband. Therefore, the reduction of the sidelobe level can improve the frequency utilization efficiency.
On the other hand, for the application of OFDMA to cognitive radio the sidelobe level should be reduced to enable to use the vacant frequency band efficiently.
This paper proposes to use the overlap FFT filterbank to reduce the adjacent channel interference of OFDMA signal and describes the adjacent channel interference performance as well as BER performance.
