For sustainable space development, we should seriously consider space debris mitigation. In order that the space debris mitigation is accepted in space development, the processes must be efficient as much as possible. When we remove the multiple satellite constellations, the efficiency highly depends on the approach plan. Therefore it is necessary to optimize the approach plan based on various kind of cost function such as fuel consumption and/or time duration. This paper proposes a method to autonomously calculate approach plan for the constellation system to optimize certain cost function, using genetic algorithm (GA). The basic concept is introduced in the example of de-orbiting plan of the Iridium. |
