Plate culture increased a patient of Legionnaires' disease because it needed to detect Legionella species in hot spring for more than 7 days. We designed a rapid detection with a metal coated flat sheet membrane and genetic test. This detection could detect Legionella species in distilled water for 4 hours.
In this report, pre-filter was applied for designed detection to remove impurities such as body hair and components in hot spring. A pre-filter could trap 20 % of L.species in flat sheet membrane to remove impurities in bathwater. In addition, a pre-filter obtained large aspirated volume and long aspirated time than nonuse. |
