Adaptive Pattern Analysis of Network Traffic using Time Series Compressibility

(in English) Although the Internet continues to innovate by bringing brand-new applications without a break, the network management has become more challenging task because the tough new problems also appear according to the innovation. Therefore we propose a novel method which performs the adaptive analysis of the multi-dimensional pattern of network traffic time series. The proposed method can classify aggregate traffic automatically without a priori modeling by a label series pattern classification based on the compressibility of the label sequences. The proposed technique enables the automatic separation of traffic from contracts or assumptions and realizes the isolation of unknown traffic almost without human intervention.
