Prototyping of an ultrasonic self-levitation plate

(in English) An ultrasonically self-levitation vibrating plate for a non-contact transporter device is discussed. The vibrating plate can be levitated using acoustic radiation force from the plate. The vibrating plate is statically levitated when the weight of the vibrating plate and the levitation force are balanced. An aluminum plate ($2×78×78 mm^{3}$) was employed as a vibrating plate and four PZT elements ($1×18×18 mm^{3}$) were attached to the vibrating plate. The configurations of the vibrating plate and the PZT elements were determined through harmonic analysis of finite elemental analysis (FEA) to obtain the maximum vibration displacement amplitude for the higher levitation performance over 20 kHz. A lattice flexural vibration mode at 22.3 kHz of the vibrating plate was used. The measurement and FEA results of the vibration displacement distribution in the flexural vibrating plate showed a good agreement. The maximum levitation distance on a glass plate was 256 $\mu$m under several conditions. When two vibrating plates were coupled, the maximum load was $8.1 kN/m^{2}$.
