Numerical simulation of parametric sound array and visualization of difference frequency beam generation

(in English) In order to understand the process of parametric sound generation, it is useful to capture instantaneous sound fields of each component and to visualize the propagation process in a time domain, although sound fields are usually analyzed as stationary fields, for examples amplitude or effective value of pressure. In this study, we simulated the nonlinear propagations of ultrasounds in a time domain and extracted a parametric sound with the difference frequency from the nonlinearly interacted ultrasounds using a wave number filtering in order to visualize the propagation of the parametric sound. In particular, we focused on the generation of length-limited parametric sound beam, which indicates a truncated array length with narrower beam width compared to that of regular parametric sound beam. The simulations indicated that the propagation of length-limited parametric sound was concentrated around the beam axis with less spherical diffusion compared to regular parametric sounds. In aadition, the length-limited sound has discontinous wavefronts near the sound sources.
